Madisonville City Park
Madisonville, KY
Course Review:
Its amid a beautiful park some what similar to Noble
park with its large trees and no under brush with lots a
shot routes and is well groomed. Its 3 times as large
as Noble and very scenic with a lake that is in view
through out most of the park that comes into play on a
couple of holes.
It starts out misleadingly tame with an easy, open 300'
hole then the next couple of holes are over looking the
lake and is some what open except for a few well
calculated trees that make these holes challenging yet
parable or better.
the next couple of holes are through a airy wooded
area that is a lot of fun again NO under brush.
The next couple of holes are where the lake comes
into play, the first being with the lake on your left so you
wanna make sure you dont through to much of a hyser
or youll be swimming. The next is about 250' (roughly)
across the lake makes it nervous and fun at the same
time. although none of the three of made it across it
was at our own demise(crappy throws,I threw a worm
burner over a lake....not a good idea).
Then you start getting into some larger 450' to 600+'
holes that are not as bad as it sounds because most
have a gradual slope down that makes those
distances obtainable for most golfers. these and the
rest of the holes are again in an open wooded area
like the back side of Noble, tons of routes around the
big oaks with no sapplings to hinder a perfect throw.
The park is shared with a ball golf course which has
no effect to disc golfers but there is a pro shop at hole
one and eighteen that has cold drinks and picnic
tables on a shaded front deck, soon they will carry disc
golf gear. overall I give it an A+ its unbelievablly
beautiful and fun one of my favorite HB courses, not
sure of the overall length but its very long.
Great job HB! cant wait to play it again.
